I love goals, life lists, things for my to strive for…So when Elsie from A Beautiful Mess (and RVA) proposed a public blog project based on making goals, I jumped right on board!
There are a few, simple rules so be sure to check out the post, 4 Simple Goals (before 2011…), on Elsie’s blog.
Here are my goals:
1 – Cook more often. I love to cook (and bake) but I just don’t do it often enough. It’s hard cooking for only one person. Now that (in 16 days) I’ll be living with another person I’ll have an easier time. Plus I just bought 2 cookbooks (one from better homes and gardens and the other is for crock pot cooking!). If you have any favorite recipes , or websites, please send me a link!
2 – 52 week art journal project with a partner or a group of people. And all of you lovely readers can help me out with this one! If you’re interested please let me know.
3 – Sew. Pretty simple. I have a sewing machine and know how to do some basic projects but I would love to sew more often and make pretty things to wear and pretty things for my home.
4 - Make my new home/studio space beautiful and inspiring. I think this one is my top goal. I can’t wait to live in a home that I love and that inspires me daily. It’s a great new space but right now, I’m not there yet and can’t mentally picture how to decorate it at all, also my new studio space is going to be huge. I can’t wait!
I will blog about my progress with all of these goals, I think they are all pretty simple and things I can actually accomplish and feel good about.
Want to join in and make some simple goals? Make sure you read the rules and link back to Elsie’s blog

We have a goal in common! Cooking! My favorite food websites are foodgawker and tastespotting. So many gorgeous foods and tasty recipes. Love it!

I love to cook! My two favorite resources for recipes are:
http://www.foodnetwork.com/
http://allrecipes.com/
The reviews are great and really honest if a recipe is good or what changes to make for improvements. I print a recipe if my family loves it and have a 3 ring binder full of them. Best of all – it’s all FREE! Allrecipes.com is cool too because you can change the amount of servings and then it automatically calculates all the measurements for you.
Good luck with your goals!

Ah yes I’ve used allrecipes before it is really great! The better homes and garden cook book I bought is a 3 ring binder itself which I love!

I’m loving reading everyones goals! I like your cooking one. I do alot of baking for my cake work (obviously) so I end up leaving the daily food cooking to my husband….I must make more of an effort or I’ll never improve!
Good luck, looking forward to reading about your successes!

I would like to pick up knitting again. Your photo of those beautiful and colorful balls of yard have inspired me.

What great goals! I’m stopping by because I’m also participating in Elsie’s project. For recipes, I like Never Homemaker (for vegan stuff) and Smitten Kitchen. You also can’t go wrong with The Pioneer Woman Cooks.

I’ve got the one of the same goals as you – cooking! Right now my husband cooks most of our meals but I’ll be on maternity leave as of November, so it will be my turn to cook (yikes!) I just posted my first update to my goals: http://dohdums.wordpress.com/2010/08/20/making-dinner-the-meal-plan/
Maybe meal planning will work for you too?
