I Said Yes!

Ohiopyle 3

This past Saturday (October 16th), Scott took me to Ohiopyle. It’s a great state park in the area.
The colors were amazing, the waterfalls are gorgeous and it was about an hour before dusk when we got there.

We wandered around the river for a bit, collecting leaves, taking pictures and enjoying the fall air.

It was a pretty nice day out, so the park was kind of busy.
After a while, I was getting tired (I have back problems and can’t really walk/stand for long periods of time), our pockets were filled with pretty leaves and the sun was hidden far behind the tree covered mountains.

Scott said he wanted to show me the small secluded area a bit farther down the river. After a bit of grumbling, I agreed. I left my camera behind (we still had his small point and shoot and phone, which are some of the pictures below), and we walked a few minutes down the river. There were people fishing so we walked farther, and climbed over rocks to get to a small area where we couldn’t see any other people.

We sat on a large rock for a while, enjoying the river. Not so much enjoying the screeching train that passed or the fact that my butt got pretty frozen on that rock.
I’ll be honest, I kind of knew it was coming. I knew the ring had been purchased, and he had been so pushy about getting me alone at Ohiopyle. But some part of me thought it wasn’t going to happen, mainly because I was in a fairly grumpy mood all day and he had done nothing to improve it. (I asked him later that night and he said he was just too pre-occupied with thinking about asking that he couldn’t cheer me up, cute heh.)

Also, I didn’t really say yes. After sitting on the rock for a while, I stood up to unfreeze my butt and we were standing up against each other for warmth and he just asked if I would marry him. I stared into his eyes for a moment and said “Okay.”

It was perfect.

I actually picked out my ring. I’m kind of picky and he was happy to let me pick! I found this ring on Etsy, it’s vintage and I love it.

We know most of what we want already, generally…we just need specifics!
So I’ll warn you, there will probably be a ton of wedding related posts starting soon! :)
