“A Year of Discovering” is my 52 week journaling project. 1 prompt every week for a whole year. I intend to be real and truthful in my pages. I hope to learn more about myself, my art and the world around me as this project unfolds.
See the archives for all my prompts and journal pages for a whole year.
Week 13: Flowers
For this page I used:
Samples of house paint for the background.
The little piece of paper behind the flowers is a tea bag with a poem typed on a typewriter
and
flowers that I pressed
The text is an excerpt from the poem Korean Mums by James Schuyler:
I sit scribbling in a little
notebook at a garden table,
too hot in a heavy shirt
in the mid-October sun
into which the Korean mums
all face. There is a
dull book with me,
an apple core, cigarettes,
an ashtray….
…
…
One day will forget:
this garden, the breeze
in stillness, even
the words, Korean Mums.
