Note: VERY image heavy post ahead
Most days are pretty boring around here. I sleep in, drink coffee, blog, watch something on hulu then my fiance gets home and we have dinner and game or just hang out most of the night.
Last week, I had some ideas rolling around in my head and I was determined to actually get something done for once. So I woke up at 5:30am (on July 18th) with my fiance and took a photo (or more) an hour. I actually ended up taking 750 pictures that day. I think I took a lot more than one an hour!
Also a lot are pretty grain-y, I had the ISO set to 800 most of the morning and 1600 later at night.
When I do get up early, I know I’m productive and creative but I didn’t realize just how much I usually do. I maybe was slightly more aware that I should be doing something interesting ha! but not overly so. The day after I felt like I should be taking pictures every few minutes so I guess the project was helpful in a few ways!
5:55am I was making breakfast!
We’re trying to work on our finances, which means limiting our grocery budget and while I love cereal it’s soo expensive. So right now we’re going between eggs and pancakes. In a few weeks I want to try to make my own cereal (cheaper).
6:30am scrambled eggs, toast with peanut butter and yogurt (plus coffee for me)
7:30am
After Scott left around 6:40, I sat down and wrote out some morning pages then (after checking e-mails) I drank more coffee and browsed on Pinterest
8am I wanted a break from the computer so sat in the living room, listening to music and writing letters to pen pals using my (simple) handmade stationary
8:40am Letters are finished and I worked on making the envelopes. I do something different with the envelopes each time and I love it.
8:50am I read through and took pictures of a new book I got. Look out for a post about this book up on the blog soon. You’ll all really like it, promise.
9:55am After spending about a half hour taking pictures of the book, I came back to the computer and look who sat next to me. She’s so cute mostly when she’s sleeping .
While the little cutie above was looking at me for petting, I was working on some blog stuff. Here’s the mess on my desk. (my phone, mp3 player, chap-stick, a few pens, a napkin, disposable camera)
10:45am I needed another computer break (random fact: I work best in short bursts of energy, a shorter 5min break, maybe work on another project for a short burst…lather, rinse, repeat.) So I made myself a new journal.
11:30am I took a break from the book making to vacuum the house because there was cat hair everywhere. And then I came back and sewed up my book.
12:00pm Doing some fun things with Calligraphy pens and Speedball India Ink.
12:40pm After practicing with the Calligraphy for a bit, I wrote something out. Here’s a peak.
1:05pm Back to work on the computer. Doing some work in photoshop for the Blog Party last week!
1:50pm By this point I’m starving and need a real break (meaning no work at all) so I made some toast (for some reason, we’re lacking lunch food right now.) and put on True Blood (random fact 2: I like to torture myself by watching things that cause me physical pain. Namely, True Blood or Harry Potter – ie books made in to shit/ruin the story. I know if I don’t like it, I should just not watch it…but I can’t STOP!)
2:15pm Done eating but still watching the show so I decide to paint my nails. This color is OPI Lincoln Park After Dark. It’s a purple but it looks black. (if you click on that link, the color in the bottle is a LOT lighter than the color actually is. weird.)
3:10pm Show is over and I decide to do some experimenting with watercolors for…you guessed it, the blog. It’s top secret though.
3:40pm I watched a live ustream from Amanda Palmer. I was going to do a post about this but it’s making my computer too slow, which hopefully it doesn’t for you. Amanda Palmer Clinic: Songwriting. She talks about songwriting BUT most of the advice can be applied to any and all art forms as well. It was really inspiring to watch (plus she performed a few songs and there was some really talented high school kids who performed as well).
5:10pm The Ustream ran longer than I thought it would so after that I sat in the living room and wrote a little and had a small epiphany about my writing.
5:20pm About 20 minutes until Scott gets home from work and I decided to lay down for a nap.
6:30pm We went to Panera for dinner. I got the Frontega Chicken (my regular) so gooood. (also, I didn’t bring my camera so this photo and the next were taken on my phone.)
6:55pm Walked around target for a bit. They had school supplies and I wanted some. (random fact 3: I heart office/school supplies.)
8pm We’re back home. Scott doing some work on the computer.
8:50pm We decided to run out for dessert. It was a little foggy out and I took a picture while we were driving.
9pm Dairy Queen! I got: chocolate ice cream in a cone with rainbow sprinkles. Scott got: twist ice cream in a cup with blueberry topping. Yum!
9:10pm I was trying to take a picture of Scott and I think I was criticizing him for looking too sad in the pictures and he made this face. I enjoy it.
9:30pm Back home. We finished off the night by playing some City of Heroes.
We played for maybe a half hour and I had a really bad headache and was super tired so we went to bed and I passed out on the wrong side of the bed! Oops.
This was so fun. I’ll definitely do it again! Also, I have to admit, when I got to editing the last photo, I was sad it was over.
♥I hope you enjoyed the peak into my day!
