For the past few weeks I’ve been really lax in my blogging. I decided to split my blog into a personal blog (at Loose Leaf Dreams) and this one, what I deem my “professional blog”. I have goals and dreams for this blog, for my creative life and my professional life. But I’m all tangled up in new motherhood, mental health, no income and working through so many emotions and trials every day that I have been having a hard time deciding what kind of content I want to bring to this space.
I was thinking I need a break from blogging but I don’t really want to do that either.
The last two years, the lovely Susannah Conway hosted something called The August Break. I’ve never participated before but I think this year is the year.
Here’s a quote from her post:
“How it works: you simply share one photo (or more!) each day on your blog – Monday to Friday, or every day. Or whenever you feel moved to share. Using any camera – DSLR, compact, Polaroid, Holga, iPhone (my choice), Instax, film or digital – with or without words – anything goes! – for the whole of August. No pressure – just looking at August through your camera lens as a way to be more present this summer. And to have a little break from the pressures and expectations of regular blogging.”.
I think it sounds lovely and just what I need. Are you joining in on The August Break too? Let me know.

I too have been lax at regular blogging recently and the August Break sounds like a great idea. I already have blogger set up on my cell, so it will be easy enough to do. Thanks so much for the idea and enjoy your break!
